The Older Americans Act Was Reauthorized by the Senate

The Older Americans Act, which annually provides tens of millions of dollars to Federation partners serving the elderly, was reauthorized by the Senate yesterday and now moves to the House. The bill would require states to find new ways to reach out to the country’s estimated 130,000 Holocaust survivors, the majority of whom need more elder care services.

Federations advocated strongly for the new provisions, which would also require the Administration on Aging to develop guidelines on how best to meet survivors’ needs.
