Rainbow Equality Seder

Sunday, April 21

2 – 4 p.m.

Handmade Toledo, 1717 Adams St.

FREE

Join Equality Toledo and Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo’s Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) for an event celebrating our collective liberation. The Passover seder retells the story of the liberation of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt. This Rainbow Equality Seder will follow the customs and order of a traditional Passover seder and will focus on chronicling our collective liberation as LGBTQ+ people, as Jews, as LGBTQ+ Jews, and others.

We come together to commemorate our emancipation from oppression, to celebrate the freedoms that have been achieved, and to explore freedoms not yet gained, remembering that none of us are free until all of us are free.

This event is free and open to all, regardless of faith, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

RSVP by Monday, April 15 by clicking here.

Questions? Contact Mary Bilyeu at 419-724-0405 or mary@jewishtoledo.org.

Yoga for Israel

Wednesday, May 8
7 - 8 p.m.
B'nai Israel, 6525 Sylvania Ave.
FREE event, donations requested

Let’s turn our sadness into action. Join us for an hour of yoga, meditation, and healing while raising money for the Jewish Federations of Greater Toledo’s Israel's Relief Fund.

Since October 7, our community has been heartbroken by the violence and tragic events in Israel. This all-levels flow class led by Lori Gold Ellinger, Yoga instructor at Toledo Yoga, is an opportunity to come together for a moment of shared strength and to take an hour to breathe. There will be plenty of options to modify or challenge yourself depending on your level of practice.

Bring your own mat (BYOM!) The full proceeds of this class will go to support victims of terror, medical support, trauma recovery, crisis management, direct lifesaving relief efforts, and accurate media reporting via our trusted partners.

This event is open for all women and held in partnership with Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo, Congregation B’nai Israel, Congregation Etz Chayim, Temple Shomer Emunim, and Chabad House of Greater Toledo.

RSVP by Tuesday, May 7 online here or Sherry Majewski at sherry@jewishtoledo.org or 419-724-0351.

Chef Uri has always been involved in multicultural culinary initiatives and is a founder of The Tourism Association in the Western Galilee; he recently opened a consulting, branding, and marketing company, Umami, to help culinary, tourism, and lifestyle businesses mainly in the Western Galilee and Northern Israel.

Sekach Building, 6505 Sylvania Ave.

Join Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo staff members Sherry Majewski, Hannah Loeser, and Mary Bilyeu and celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. This fun and festive program will include a brief history of Jewish experiences in Asia, information about loved ones and their Asian heritages, and – of course! – a delicious Pan-Asian lunch and treats. Hannah’s mom, Demi, will also teach us how to make vegetarian dumplings to cook at home.

RSVP required by Friday, May 24 here or with Sherry Majewski at 419-724-0351 or sherry@jewishtoledo.org.
